Spikes Security was a cybersecurity firm founded in July 2012 by Branden Spikes, who also served as CEO and CTO. Before establishing his own company, Branden Spikes spent over fifteen years as a high-level technology and security architect for Elon Musk's ventures, including Zip2, PayPal, and SpaceX. This experience in environments where intellectual property protection was paramount directly influenced the company's focus. Spikes identified that a common vector for network breaches was employees clicking on malicious links and felt a "moral imperative" to solve this widespread problem.

The company specialized in web malware isolation, a technique that counters browser-based threats. Its core business was centered on providing a highly secure browsing experience for enterprises, thereby preventing malware from ever reaching the corporate network. Spikes Security targeted clients with significant intellectual or financial property to protect, such as those in the aerospace, banking, healthcare, utilities, and government sectors. The firm's flagship product, initially called the Spikes Browser and later AirGap™, was a web malware isolation appliance. This technology worked by creating hardware separation, running all web content on a secure, remote computer outside the client's network perimeter. This approach distinguished it from competitors that relied on detection-based methods, as it aimed to completely isolate and eliminate web-borne threats before they could cause harm.

In May 2016, Mumbai-based Aurionpro Solutions announced its acquisition of Spikes Security. The acquisition led to the merger of Spikes with Aurionpro's existing enterprise security division to form a new subsidiary named Cyberinc, headquartered in Silicon Valley. This strategic move was designed to combine Spikes' isolation technology with Aurionpro's expertise in identity and access management, creating a more comprehensive security offering for a global market. Following the acquisition, Michael Mansouri, who was the CEO of Spikes Security, became the CEO of the new subsidiary.
