SpaciaNet Japan Inc. provides a technology-driven solution to address labor shortages and communication barriers within the tourism and accommodation industry, particularly for vacation rentals. The company's core product, AirXpress, is a multilingual operations platform that automates and streamlines guest communications, handles inquiries, and manages schedules 24/7. This service is designed to help property owners in Japan cater to a global audience, reduce operational burdens, and increase revenue.
The company was first established in Cambodia in January 2017 before founding the Japanese entity, SpaciaNet Japan Inc., in June 2021, which is now headquartered in Osaka. The founding team consists of CEO Wataru Aoki and CTO Va Kora. Aoki, a graduate of Kobe Pharmaceutical University, has a background as a pharmacist and experience working at AstraZeneca. His desire to start a business abroad led him to Cambodia in 2013. Kora holds a master's degree from the University of Electro-Communications in Japan and previously worked as a developer for Rakuten Travel. He returned to his home country of Cambodia to co-found SpaciaNet with Aoki, combining Aoki's business experience with his own technical expertise.
SpaciaNet's business model is centered on providing its digital platform and operational support services to property owners. The company utilizes its base in Cambodia for multilingual staff who handle customer support. The firm connects with Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), site controllers, and smart keys to create a seamless experience for both property managers and guests. In November 2023, the company announced it had raised approximately 100 million JPY in a seed funding round led by basepartners Inc. and 01Booster Capital.
