In 1987, in the heart of the Swiss Jura region, a group of entrepreneurs founded a company with a clear mission: to build enterprise resource planning, or ERP, software tailored for the specific needs of Swiss small and medium-sized enterprises. The company, initially named ProConcept SA, focused on industries that are the backbone of the Swiss economy, like watchmaking, med-tech, and precision manufacturing. The flagship product, ProConcept ERP, became a benchmark for its ability to handle the complex financial, HR, and production processes required by Swiss law and business practices. For years, the company grew by establishing itself as a key local player, an editor and integrator of its own software. In a move to broaden its image, the company rebranded to SolvAxis in 2009, but the strength and reputation of its original product were so strong that in 2019, it reverted to the name ProConcept SA to reinforce its core identity. The most significant chapter in its journey began in 2014 when it was acquired by the Swedish firm Jeeves Information Systems. This was part of a larger strategy by the private equity-backed group Forterro to acquire strong, local ERP champions across Europe. The acquisition provided ProConcept with deeper resources while allowing it to maintain its Swiss management and focus. Today, ProConcept operates as a key Swiss brand within the pan-European Forterro portfolio, a testament to its enduring product-market fit.
