Snowit is a digital travel platform focused on simplifying winter sports holidays. Founded in 2016 by Pasquale Emanuele Scopelliti and Riccardo Maggioni in Milan, Italy, the company operates an online marketplace that bundles services for winter sports enthusiasts. Scopelliti and Maggioni brought professional experience from The Boston Consulting Group and Accenture, respectively, to the venture.
The platform allows users to book a variety of services in a single transaction, including ski passes, equipment rentals, lessons, accommodations, and other mountain experiences. One of its core products is the Snowitcard, a rechargeable card that can be loaded with ski passes for over 50 resorts, allowing skiers to bypass ticket office queues. The company also offers a pay-per-use ski pass option called SnowitPass. Through its website and mobile app, available for iOS and Android, Snowit serves winter tourists in over 130 locations across the Alps and beyond. The business model operates as a marketplace, earning revenue through the sale of these consolidated services and also functions as a marketing agency for brands wanting to reach its user base.
The company has secured funding from investors including Eagle Capital Ventures, B Heroes, Antifragile, and FNM Group. A significant development occurred in late 2021 when FNM, a group controlled by the Lombardy Region, acquired a 33.33% stake, positioning Snowit for further growth ahead of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
