SK Hynix System IC is the foundry-specialized subsidiary of the global semiconductor leader, SK Hynix. Established on July 1, 2017, the company was spun off from its parent to focus on the system semiconductor sector, adapting from a mass-production model to a more flexible small-quantity batch production system. The head office is located in Cheongju, South Korea.

The company operates as a contract chipmaker, also known as a foundry, producing integrated circuits for other companies. Its main products include CMOS Image Sensors (CIS), Display Driver ICs (DDI), and Power Management ICs (PMIC). SK Hynix System IC utilizes a range of specialized processes from 90nm to 0.35um, including HV CMOS, BCDMOS, and MEMS technologies. These components are essential for a wide variety of electronic devices, including televisions, computers, mobile phones, and automotive power management systems. In 2018, the company invested in a new 8-inch wafer fabrication plant (fab) in Wuxi, China, to expand its production capabilities. To bolster its presence in the growing Chinese market, SK Hynix System IC entered a partnership with the state-owned Wuxi Industry Development Group (WIDG), selling a 49.9% stake in the Wuxi foundry to the entity.
