Sixth Man Technologies
Helping people manage their money and get out of debt.
Founded in May 2019 by Luke Geiger, Sixth Man Technologies is a New York-based company focused on sports analytics software. Prior to this venture, Geiger honed his skills as a software engineer at Uber for nearly four years and also worked as an iOS developer and instructor. The company has developed a suite of products designed to help sports teams uncover value in their athletes through detailed statistical analysis.
Sixth Man Technologies offers two primary score-keeping systems, HoopMetrics and DiamondMetrics, which enable teams to track statistics and live-stream games. HoopMetrics is a basketball scorebook that computes advanced analytics, with a core function of analyzing individual player performance on the court to suggest strategic lineup changes. For example, it can identify lineups that are most effective at forcing turnovers or holding opponents to a low field goal percentage. DiamondMetrics serves baseball and softball teams, providing similar capabilities for stat tracking and game streaming. The overall platform also includes features for tournament management, game scheduling, and live stats, with an app available for both Android and iOS that allows fans to follow their favorite players.
The company's business model appears to be centered on providing these specialized software tools to a range of clients, from NCAA teams across all divisions to international leagues. The firm gained early traction after being selected for the Techstars Sports Accelerator in June 2019, which included $120,000 in funding. It has also secured investments from other venture capital firms including Invest Detroit Ventures, Rock Ventures, and ZeroGravity Capital.
