Siigo
Provider of accounting and administrative software for small and medium-sized companies in colombia.
In 1988, long before the cloud was a common term, Ricardo Ortiz and Fernando Rebellón started Siigo in Colombia with just five clients. They pioneered selling accounting technology when computers were still a novelty for many businesses. Their initial product was a simple system for creating and printing documents, but they saw an opportunity with the arrival of color computer monitors to create more user-friendly visual software. This focus on simplifying accounting and administrative tasks for small and medium-sized businesses became the company's core mission. By 2010, Ricardo Ortiz had bought out his partners and, with his son David Ortiz joining the company, they focused the strategy on a single, core product. A key turning point came in 2017 when Siigo received a major investment from Accel-KKR, a Silicon Valley-based technology investment firm. This was Accel-KKR's first investment in Latin America and it fueled Siigo's transition to a fully cloud-based model. With this new backing, Siigo accelerated its growth, expanding its services and client base significantly. The company embarked on a series of strategic acquisitions across Latin America, including companies in Mexico, Ecuador, and Chile, solidifying its position as a regional leader in accounting software. Today, Siigo serves over a million businesses across the continent, continuing its journey of empowering small and medium-sized enterprises.
