Shoppist
Personals shopper app which will search on the behalf of shoppers and recommend most relevant products out of entire web.
Founded in 2015 by Divij Goyal and Shankar Kotuli, Shoppist operated as a mobile-only product discovery platform in the fashion sector from its base in Delhi, India. The company was later acqui-hired. The core of Shoppist's service was a platform designed to provide a personalized shopping experience.
Users would create a social profile, inputting details such as their profession, location, and stylistic preferences. Based on this information, the application's algorithm would recommend fashion products tailored to the individual. The system was designed to learn from user behavior, theoretically improving the relevance of its suggestions over time. A key feature was the concept of a personal shopper for each user, ensuring that the product recommendations were curated and relevant. Shoppist's business model focused on being a mobile-first platform, targeting consumers who prefer to shop and discover new items via their smartphones.
Divij Goyal, one of the founders, has been involved in the creation of three other companies: TradeX, AdOnStream, and CityMall, and serves on the board of one company. His co-founder was Shankar Kotuli. Before being acqui-hired, Shoppist had not raised any external funding rounds.
