Shakl3D, established in Saudi Arabia in 2016 by founder Omar Abuhabaya, operated as an online 3D printing platform and design marketplace.

The company's core business involved providing a platform where designers and creators could upload, share, and sell their 3D printable designs as STL or OBJ files. Concurrently, it offered digital manufacturing services, allowing both consumers and corporate clients to bring their ideas into the physical world. Shakl3D catered to a diverse clientele by enabling them to select from a wide array of materials, including ceramic, gold, and silver, and finishes such as polished, dyed, or painted. The platform served various industries, with a particular focus on the oil and gas sector, alongside aerospace, automotive, art, fashion, and healthcare.

The business model centered on being a community hub for makers, designers, and entrepreneurs. Revenue was generated through its on-demand manufacturing services and the marketplace for 3D designs. The company received early-stage backing from the accelerator Flat6Labs.

In a significant milestone, Shakl3D was acquired by the UAE-based Immensa Technology Labs on November 17, 2020. This acquisition was part of Immensa's strategic expansion into the Saudi Arabian market, aiming to create one of the largest additive manufacturing platforms in the region. Following the acquisition, Shakl3D's founder, Omar Abuhabaya, took on the roles of General Manager for the newly formed Immensa KSA and Chief Operating Officer of the Immensa Group, leveraging his experience to develop the industrial 3D printing sector in the Kingdom.
