Service Partner ONE was established in 2015 by co-founders Sven Hock, Nadine Capoen, and Jonas C. Blauth, with initial seed funding from Rheingau Founders. The company launched as a digital platform to streamline office management for businesses. Its core offering centralized the procurement of various office services and supplies, including cleaning, consumables, fruit and beverages, and even skilled tradesmen, all managed through a single interface and consolidated into one invoice. The client base included notable names like McKinsey, Siemens, Twitter, and Spotify. Sven Hock, who served as CEO, brought experience from his time at Innovation Partners and Indiegogo.
The firm initially pursued an aggressive growth strategy, securing approximately $10 million in a significant funding round in mid-2016 from investors such as EQT Ventures, Target Global, and Earlybird. This led to a rapid expansion, with the team growing to over 100 employees. However, this period of high growth was not sustainable. By 2017, the company faced a significant crisis, leading to substantial layoffs and a complete restructuring of the management team. All original founders eventually departed the company, with Philipp Andernach taking over as CEO to navigate the turnaround.
Under new leadership, Service Partner ONE pivoted its business model. It shifted from being a comprehensive but low-margin service aggregator to a software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider focused on facility management. The new product enabled building management companies to digitize and organize their services, manage appointments, and communicate with clients and staff through a dedicated application. This strategic shift proved successful, leading the company back to operational profitability. The turnaround culminated in the acquisition of Service Partner ONE by the German cleaning equipment manufacturer Kärcher in 2019, securing the startup's future and providing Kärcher with a digital platform to expand its own service offerings.
