SentryHealth, founded in 2011, operates as a technology-driven health and well-being platform tailored for self-insured employers and their workforce. The company’s core business is to mitigate healthcare costs—spanning medical, pharmacy, and disability—for employers by enhancing the overall health of their employees. This is achieved through an integrated solution that combines data analytics with personalized human support. In March 2022, SentryHealth merged with Wellview, a population health management provider, to create a more holistic offering for employers. Following this merger, SentryHealth's CEO, J. Kevin Porter, continued to lead the combined entity, while Wellview's co-founder and CEO, James Story, became the Chief Strategy Officer. This strategic integration united two technology-enabled healthcare benefit management companies, combining their services under the SentryHealth brand to serve nearly 300 employers across the U.S. A significant milestone occurred in November 2023, when First Stop Health, a virtual care company, acquired SentryHealth. The acquisition was intended to enhance First Stop Health's virtual primary, urgent, and mental health care offerings with SentryHealth's care advocacy and navigation capabilities. As part of the acquisition, Kevin Porter transitioned to a Strategic Advisor role for the new combined company.

The platform's methodology centers on using artificial intelligence to analyze data from multiple sources, generating unique 'Intelligent Profiles' for each employee. These profiles contain personalized health recommendations. The technology is complemented by a human touch, pairing employees with Registered Nurse Advocates. These advocates engage with each employee, guiding them to appropriate and timely care, which helps in managing complex medical conditions, locating high-quality providers, and offering virtual health coaching. The service is designed to improve employee participation and satisfaction, leading to better health outcomes and cost savings for employers.
