Sany Hydrogen Energy Co., Ltd. is the hydrogen energy strategic platform of the Sany Group, a global equipment manufacturer. Established in August 2022, the company focuses on the research, development, manufacturing, and sales of hydrogen production and refueling equipment. It aims to provide comprehensive solutions for the entire hydrogen industry chain, from green power generation to hydrogen utilization.

The company was founded as part of Sany Group's 'dual-carbon' initiative, leveraging the parent company's extensive experience in equipment manufacturing, supply chain management, and global distribution. Sany Group was originally founded in 1986 by Liang Wengen, Tang Xiuguo, Mao Zhongwu, and Yuan Jinhua. The Chairman of Sany Hydrogen Energy is Yuan Dan. Since its inception, the company has achieved significant milestones, including the completion of an automated 2GW electrolyzer production line in March 2023 and the launch of the world's largest single hydrogen production electrolyzer, the S-series 3000 Nm³/h square electrolyzer, in December 2023. The company has also secured major contracts, such as a bid for the Jilin Da'an Wind and Solar Green Hydrogen Integrated Demonstration Project, the world's largest green ammonia project.

Sany Hydrogen Energy's product portfolio includes alkaline (AWE) and PEM electrolyzers, separation and purification systems, and hydrogen refueling stations. Their offerings feature the S-series square electrolyzer and E-series alkaline electrolyzers, designed for large-scale hydrogen production from renewable energy sources like wind and solar. The company provides GW-level integrated solutions for on-grid and off-grid hydrogen production. Its business model involves manufacturing and selling this equipment and providing complete solutions for various applications, including green chemical production, hydrogen transportation, and energy storage. By integrating with other Sany Group divisions like Sany Renewable Energy (wind power) and Sany Heavy Truck (hydrogen fuel cell vehicles), the company creates a closed-loop industrial ecosystem. Sany Hydrogen Energy has expanded internationally, delivering its first overseas system to a customer in Australia to support the country's national hydrogen strategy.
