Sainard (赛那德), legally known as Sainard Digital Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., is a high-tech enterprise specializing in machine vision and intelligent robotics for the logistics and manufacturing sectors. Founded in 2012 by CEO Li Hua, an industry veteran with deep insight into the sector's challenges, the company has transitioned from focusing on general industrial automation to becoming a core provider of machine vision technologies.
The company's business model is centered on providing hardware and software solutions that automate complex manual tasks in industrial settings. Sainard develops and supplies standardized intelligent logistics and sorting equipment to address labor shortages and high costs, thereby improving efficiency and product quality for its clients. Its customer base includes leading companies in logistics, e-commerce, tobacco, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and smart manufacturing, such as JD.com, SF Express, and Cainiao. The company has a global footprint, with its headquarters in Shanghai, R&D centers in Shenzhen and Wuhan, and products exported to over a dozen countries, including the United States and South Korea.
Sainard's product portfolio is built on a foundation of proprietary AI algorithms and machine vision technology. A key offering is the iLoabot series of autonomous loading and unloading robots. The iLoabot-M, unveiled in September 2023, is presented as Asia's first autonomous loading/unloading robot, designed to operate in complex environments like container trucks without requiring modifications to the site. This robot utilizes a 4D machine vision system and radar navigation to handle tasks autonomously. Other products include DWS (Dimensioning, Weighing, Scanning) systems, single-piece separators, and 3D vision-guided robotic arms for unordered object grasping and depalletizing. The company has developed its own multi-modal Vertical Large Model (VLM) for the logistics industry, which serves as the "industrial brain" for its robots.
Sainard has successfully secured multiple rounds of funding to fuel its research and development. In September 2021, the company completed a RMB 30 million Series A round co-led by China Merchants Venture and China Merchants Leasing. This was followed by a Series B round in November 2023, where it raised tens of millions of RMB in an exclusive investment from Puhua Capital to support new product development and production.
