The Rockford Foresters were an amateur, collegiate summer baseball team based in Rockford, Illinois. The team was formed in 2010 and played in the Midwest Collegiate League, which features college players seeking to continue their development during the summer months while maintaining their amateur status. The Foresters were founded by owner and team president Joe Stefani of Three Strikes Baseball, along with other investors. The players were student-athletes from various NCAA, NJCAA, and NAIA college programs who had remaining eligibility.
The team played its home games at Marinelli Field in Rockford. In its inaugural season in 2010, the team won the Midwest Collegiate League championship. They reached the championship series again in 2011. After the 2012 season, the Foresters lost their lease for Marinelli Field and were set to play as a road-only team for the 2013 season. The organization also offered community-focused promotions, such as providing free tickets to unemployed fans.
