The firm has been investing in the asset class since the mid-1980s. Seavest is a long-term holder of its investments, acquiring properties directly and entering into joint ventures with developers for new projects. Mr. Ray joined Seavest Investment Group in 1995 and has subsequently been involved in all phases of the firms development. Mr. Ray is responsible for supervising all real estate and private investments, including negotiating major transactions, overseeing the investment due diligence process, providing analysis and structuring equity and debt investments on behalf of Seavest and their clients. Mr. Ray serves on the Board of Directors of Fifth Street Finance Corp. (NASDAQ: FSC), a public investment management company based in White Plains, NY and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). Prior to joining Seavest, Mr. Ray was employed in Washington, D.C. on the staff of U.S. Senator Arlen Specter and as a research analyst for the Republican National Committee. Mr. Ray received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh. X fdsf Rick Segal Richard D. Segal is Chairman of Seavest Healthcare Properties. Mr. Segal has a long history of investing in real estate specifically in healthcare properties. In 1988, he acquired a controlling interest in MMBC, a medical real estate advisory firm, then owned by Avon Products Inc. That acquisition launched Seavests healthcare real estate practice and portfolio. Prior to founding Seavest in 1981, Mr. Segal was a partner at Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn where he managed the firms private investments. Mr. Segal currently serves on the Board of Trustees of New York Presbyterian Hospital where he is a member of the Real Estate and Major Facilities Committee. He also serves on the Steering Committee of the Hospitals Millstein Heart Center and is a past Trustee of the Montifiore Medical Center in the Bronx. Mr. Segal is a Trustee the Whitney Museum of American Art and serves on the Building Committee, the Executive Committee, and as Chairman of the Finance Committee. Mr. Segal received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Wesleyan University. X fdsf Jonathan Winer Jonathan Winer is the Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Seavest Healthcare Properties. He joined the Seavest Investment Group in 2008 and has over 28 years of real estate experience. At Seavest, Mr. Winer has multi-faceted responsibilities including directing both the acquisition and asset management groups. Prior to Seavest, Mr. Winer was a Partner at EY LLP where he directed the Healthcare Real Estate Advisory practice. Previously, Mr. Winer was active with Chemical Bank and Bear Stearns Co., Inc. where he specialized in providing tax-exempt financing. Mr. Winer is a frequent speaker at healthcare real estate industry events including seminars sponsored by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), Urban Land Institute (ULI) and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). He serves on the BOMA Healthcare Facilities Conference Executive Committee and the Editorial Advisory Board of the publication Healthcare Real Estate Insights. He is also a Vice Chair of the ULI Healthcare and Life Sciences Council. Mr. Winer has an M.B.A. from New York University and a B.B.A. from George Washington University, and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in New York. X fdsf Michael Walden Michael Walden is Chief Operating Officer of Seavest Investment Group. He joined Seavest in 2011 and has operating responsibilities across the firm. Mr. Walden has over 15 years of experience establishing, operating and growing businesses in a variety of industries. This includes a variety of operating positions in venture-funded growth companies in the technology, ecommerce and telecommunications sectors. Prior to joining Seavest, Mr. Walden was Managing Director of Potomac Media Partners, a corporate development advisory services firm. Prior to Potomac Media Partners, he served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at InPhonic, Inc. where he was responsible for strategic partnerships, financings, and M A activities. Mr. Walden began his career in Washington, D.C. serving on the legislative staff of U.S. Senator Arlen Specter. Mr. Walden received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Richmond. X fdsf Shakawat Chowdhury Shakawat Chowdhury is the Chief Financial Officer of Seavest Healthcare Properties. Mr. Chowdhury joined Seavest in 2013, and manages the firms financial and accounting operations. Mr. Chowdhury has over 13 years of experience in the real estate industry with a focus on accounting and taxation. Prior to joining Seavest, Mr. Chowdhury was a Senior Tax Director in the tax group for Tishman Speyer where he had responsibility for the U.S. tax reporting function of over 1,500 legal entities globally. Prior to his tenure at Tishman, Mr. Chowdhury spent four years as a Senior Tax Associate at Arthur Andersen Co. Mr. Chowdhury received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree Cum Laude in accounting with a minor in mathematics from Bernard M. Baruch College. Mr. Chowdhury is a CPA licensed in the State of New York. X fdsf Lloyd Mallah Lloyd Mallah is a Vice President in asset management for Seavest Healthcare Properties. Mr. Mallah joined Seavest in 2004 and is responsible for the management and analysis of an extensive portfolio of properties comprised of commercial office, medical office, retail and residential assets. This includes the evaluation of real estate investment opportunities and financing alternatives, as well as management of the diligence process for new transactions. Prior to joining Seavest, Mr. Mallah worked in global mergers and acquisitions as an investment banker for Lehman Brothers. Prior to Lehman, Mr. Mallah was a public auditor for Ernst Young LLP. He received a Business Administration Bachelors degree from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University, and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. Mr. Mallah is a CPA licensed in the State of New York. X fdsf Malika Basheer Malika Basheer is a Vice President in asset management for Seavest Healthcare Properties. Ms. Basheer joined Seavest in 2002 and is responsible for the management and analysis of an extensive portfolio of medical office and related healthcare properties. Her responsibilities extend to the evaluation of real estate investment opportunities and financing alternatives as well as the diligence for new transactions. Prior to joining Seavest, Ms. Basheer worked at PepsiCo, Inc. as a Senior Financial Analyst in corporate finance. Ms. Basheer received a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Management Information Systems, as well as an M.B.A. from Binghamton University. X fdsf David Braunstein David Braunstein is an Associate focusing on acquisitions with Seavest Healthcare Properties. Mr. Braunstein assists in the identification and evaluation of new investment opportunities. Prior to joining Seavest, Mr. Braunstein was an Originations Associate for Hudson Reality Capital, a New York-based real estate equity fund manager with over $1.5 billion in assets under management. Preceding his time at Hudson Reality Capital, Mr. Braunstein held acquisition and asset management roles at Argent Ventures and DRA Advisors in New York. Prior to this experience, he served as an Analyst in Real Estate Finance with UBS and as a Senior Accountant at Ernst Young. Mr. Braunstein holds a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Tulane University and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Real Estate from New York University.
