In 1991, Gilmar Batistela founded Resource IT Solutions in Brazil, building an IT services and integration business that would grow to partner with major multinationals like Oracle and Microsoft. For two decades, the company steadily built its presence in the Brazilian market. By the early 2010s, Resource IT was not just a local player; it had its sights set on a global stage. The company laid out an aggressive strategic plan for growth, fueled by acquisitions and international expansion, with the ultimate goal of an IPO. Throughout the 2010s, the company appeared to be executing its plan flawlessly. It made acquisitions and expanded its footprint with delivery centers across Latin America and into the United States. By 2018, Resource IT was in a major expansion phase, hiring hundreds of new technology professionals to service a growing list of 300 customers, and the talk of going public was still part of its narrative. With over 2,500 employees, the company was a significant force in the IT services sector. The story, however, doesn't end on the trading floor of a stock exchange. After years of rapid growth and ambitious announcements, the company's momentum ceased. Today, the once-expanding Brazilian IT giant is no longer in operation. The planned IPO never materialized, and the company that aimed for global consolidation quietly exited the market, serving as a case study of a journey with a clear, ambitious destination that was never reached.
