RedEdge

RedEdge is a spin-off from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), originating from the Remote Sensing Laboratory (RSLab). It was founded by researchers Athena Psalta, Vassilis Tsironis, and Andreas El Saer to translate academic research in Earth Observation (EO) into commercial applications. The NTUA Administrative Board officially approved the establishment of RedEdge in late 2024, with the university's Research Committee taking a stake in the company's share capital.

The company specializes in transforming raw EO and geospatial data into actionable intelligence through artificial intelligence, data fusion, and geospatial analytics. RedEdge develops custom AI solutions and analytics for various industries. Key sectors served include agriculture for precision farming and yield prediction; urban planning for land use mapping; transportation for traffic monitoring; insurance and finance for risk management and commodity tracking; and environmental monitoring for detecting pollution and debris.
