In November 2023, Terraform Labs (TFL), the development company behind the Terra blockchain, acquired Pulsar Finance. This strategic acquisition was aimed at enhancing TFL's technology stack and improving the experience for developers and users on the Terra blockchain. As part of the deal, Pulsar Finance's team of over 20 personnel joined TFL. Following the acquisition, Pulsar's portfolio manager product was set to be integrated into Station, TFL's cross-chain wallet. Additionally, Pulsar Data, the company's suite of blockchain data APIs and SDKs, was merged with Foundation, TFL's infrastructure offering, to reduce data indexing costs for developers building on Terra.
Prior to its acquisition, Pulsar Finance had raised $1.3 million in an early-stage venture capital round on January 1, 2022. The company was co-founded by Miguel Loures, who articulated the company's vision as making Web3 easy and accessible.
