Pretty Passionate Hands (PPH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering teen mothers and fathers. The organization provides mentorship, guidance, essential resources, and life-skills training to help young parents overcome barriers and achieve personal goals. Based in Indianapolis, Indiana, PPH operates on a supportive village model to create stable and nurturing environments for children.
The founder, Paradise A. Bradford, established the organization based on her own life experiences as a teen mother who faced significant adversity, including incarceration. During her time in prison, she developed the three-year plan for Pretty Passionate Hands. Having been emancipated at 16 and a mother to seven children, Bradford's personal journey of overcoming challenges and reconnecting with her faith fuels her work to influence other young parents positively.
PPH offers a range of programs and services, including a mentorship program for first-time teen parents aged 10-18, financial awareness workshops, doula services, and a summer program. A key feature is the "Passion Pantry," which allows families to shop for necessities like clothing, hygiene products, and household items at no cost. The organization also runs a home-based childcare service for children aged 0-5, which prioritizes families facing homelessness or displacement and children with developmental delays. All services and programs are funded through donations, which are tax-deductible.
