Presagis

Presagis operates as a provider of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software for modeling, simulation, and embedded graphics, primarily serving the aerospace, defense, and security markets. The company was officially unveiled in August 2007 by its parent company, CAE, a global leader in simulation and training. Presagis was formed by combining CAE's acquisitions of Engenuity Technologies, MultiGen-Paradigm, and TERREX, along with an existing CAE COTS software team, to create a single, unified business specializing in simulation software. Patrice Commune, the former President and CEO of Engenuity Technologies, was appointed as the first President of Presagis. Historically, the company's lineage in providing cockpit display systems software tools dates back to 1985.

The firm's business model is centered on providing an integrated suite of software tools and professional services that help clients develop applications for training, analysis, and embedded systems. Its clients include major defense contractors, aerospace manufacturers, and government agencies such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Airbus, and BAE Systems. Presagis offers a robust portfolio of products. The M&S Suite includes tools like Creator for 3D modeling, Terra Vista for terrain generation, STAGE for scenario creation, and Vega Prime for visualization. Another key offering is the VAPS XT product family, a suite of human-machine interface (HMI) development tools used for creating advanced, certifiable cockpit displays. This software supports the ARINC 661 standard and is used for developing displays with multi-touch and gesture capabilities. In 2022, the company launched VELOCITY 5D (V5D), a cloud-based platform that uses artificial intelligence to automatically convert 2D geospatial data into high-fidelity 3D digital twins. In 2023, CAE decided to fold parts of the Presagis business into its own operations and entered into an agreement to sell the Embedded Graphics (EG) business, including the VAPS XT product line, to TXT e-solutions S.p.A. However, CAE will continue to commercialize the Creator software as a standalone product.
