In 2005, founders Molham Aref and Hatem Sellami started Predictix in Atlanta to solve complex problems for retailers. The company developed cloud-native software that used predictive analytics and machine learning to help businesses make better decisions on everything from forecasting and pricing to managing their inventory and supply chains. Their goal was to provide retailers with tools to understand customer demand at a detailed level. The core of their product was the LogicBlox technology platform, which was powerful enough to attract funding from DARPA, the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. This robust platform helped Predictix gain significant traction, and by 2015, the company counted five of the top 15 global retailers as customers, managing over $60 billion in weekly forecasts. The company's growth caught the eye of enterprise software giant Infor. In January 2016, Infor made a strategic investment of $25 million in Predictix. This partnership quickly proved successful, leading Infor to fully acquire the company just six months later, in June 2016, for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition integrated Predictix's advanced analytics into Infor's CloudSuite Retail, strengthening its position against competitors like Oracle and SAP.
