In 1975, a new engineering and technology consulting firm, Polymont, was established in France. For decades, it quietly built a reputation by providing essential engineering, maintenance, and technology services to major industries, including aerospace, automotive, and energy. The company became a significant, if understated, player with a multinational presence and hundreds of employees. The modern chapter of its story began in the early 2010s. By 2012, Polymont employed 900 people and was generating €60 million in turnover before being sold to the holding company DACP, led by Eric Dermont. This marked a turning point, shifting the firm from an independent entity to part of a larger, more complex portfolio. The most significant event came on July 17, 2015, when the industrial maintenance division of Polymont was acquired by Groupe ADF. This strategic move allowed Groupe ADF to absorb a €20 million business unit with 200 engineers and technicians, significantly bolstering its own aeronautics division. For Polymont, it was the beginning of a fragmentation. The company that had once been a unified force was now being sold off, piece by piece, culminating in the eventual liquidation of the original Polymont Engineering entity in May 2022.
