Plix Life, founded in 2018 by Rishubh Satiya and Akash Zaveri, is a plant-based nutrition and wellness company based in Mumbai, India. The founders, both from traditional business families and with backgrounds in the health and fitness domain, initially started separate ventures in the plant-based nutrition space before merging them to form Plix. Their shared mission was to make wellness enjoyable and accessible by offering natural, plant-based alternatives to conventional supplements in fun formats like effervescent tablets, gummies, and powders.
The company began with a direct-to-consumer (D2C) model, selling products such as plant-based protein powders and energy bars through its website and e-commerce platforms like Amazon. This approach allowed Plix to engage directly with its customers, building a brand focused on transparency and quality, with products meeting US FDA and FSSAI standards. The product line has since expanded significantly to over 60 SKUs across categories like weight management, skincare, hair care, and daily wellness. The name 'Plix' is a combination of 'Plant' and 'Fix', reflecting its commitment to natural health solutions.
Financially, Plix has demonstrated substantial growth. After being bootstrapped initially, the company raised $5 million in a Series A round in December 2021. Its revenue grew from ₹10.92 crore in FY20 to ₹106 crore in FY22 and ₹156 crore in FY24. In July 2023, FMCG major Marico acquired a majority stake of 58% in Plix for ₹369 crore, with plans to acquire 100% over the next few years, valuing the company at approximately ₹636 crore. This acquisition provides Plix with resources to strengthen its brand, expand into new categories and channels, and increase its offline presence.
