In 1984, the same year the Apple Macintosh went on sale, Phoenix Datacom began its journey. The company was named with permission from Phoenix Microsystems, as its first product was selling their telecommunications analyzer. For decades, it operated as a trusted supplier of network testing, performance, and security solutions for major UK organizations, including government agencies and financial institutions. The business built its reputation by helping clients build, validate, and secure their critical networks. A pivotal moment arrived in early 2021 when the private equity firm LDC backed a management buyout of the company. This investment was aimed at expanding its product suite and exploring acquisitions, signaling a new chapter of accelerated growth. This strategic shift culminated in July 2022, when the company rebranded to Red Helix. The new name was chosen to reflect its evolution into a modern cybersecurity and managed services provider, focusing on strength and resilience in an increasingly complex digital world. Today, Red Helix continues its four-decade legacy, now with an expanded focus on providing managed cybersecurity services that allow clients to navigate the evolving threat landscape.
