Performa Labs is a developer of an online Learning Management System (LMS) designed to provide faster and safer training for professionals in mission-critical careers, with an initial focus on first responders. Founded in 2019 by CEO Yasuto Suga, the company was co-founded and launched out of the venture studio Cie. Suga, who also serves as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Cie, previously co-founded Kadho Sports, a training platform with clients such as MLB and the NBA, and was involved with Cie Games Japan, which was acquired by Glu Mobile.
The company's software offers a technology-based training tool focused on areas like de-escalation to improve public and officer safety. In 2020, Performa Labs announced a pilot program with the Pasadena Police Department to use its technology for enhancing officer training. The platform is intended to be an inexpensive, mobile system centered on neuro-cognitive training.
Headquartered in Irvine, California, Performa Labs operates as a Series A company. It has secured a total of $7.63 million in funding over two rounds. The initial seed round in May 2020 raised $3 million, led by Wavemaker Partners with participation from RezVen Partners, to build out its software and expand its mission. This was followed by a Series A round in July 2022, which raised $4.63 million.
