PD&MS Group

In 2002, a management team founded PD&MS Group in Aberdeen, Scotland, establishing an engineering services company focused on the energy sector. The business specialized in providing engineering, procurement, and construction services for oil and gas assets, particularly in the North Sea and Azerbaijan. Their core business involved using sophisticated design and planning to extend the life of existing infrastructure. The company's trajectory shifted in 2014 when private equity firm Inflexion completed a secondary buyout. This investment was aimed at accelerating international growth and expanding the company's capabilities. Under this new ownership, PD&MS began to diversify, moving into the renewables and energy transition markets. This strategic pivot was supported by acquisitions, including Synergie Environ and Optimus Plus, which added technical expertise in low-carbon and cleantech solutions. A significant event in the company's journey occurred in July 2023, when the environmental and engineering services firm RSK Group acquired PD&MS. The acquisition marked a notable moment for the company, integrating it into a larger group of over 200 businesses. CEO Simon Rio continued in his leadership role, highlighting the move as a way to enhance the company's scale and impact in helping customers produce affordable and sustainable energy.
