Founded in 2019 by serial entrepreneur Yeh Te-Wei, Package+ emerged from a direct experience with the shortcomings of e-commerce packaging. While running a previous e-commerce venture, Yeh received a customer complaint about the excessive, non-eco-friendly packaging used for an environmentally friendly product. This feedback became the catalyst for creating a solution to the massive waste generated by online retail.
Package+ operates on a circular economy model, providing sustainable packaging services for e-commerce businesses. The company offers a system of reusable and recyclable packages that can be used for up to 50 cycles, significantly reducing single-use packaging waste and the carbon footprint of deliveries. The business model is a B2B service where e-commerce clients pay a fee per package, which is comparable to the cost of single-use packaging. This service helps businesses transition to a greener supply chain and meet growing consumer demand for sustainable practices.
The service includes the entire logistics loop. After customers receive their orders, they can return the empty Package+ packaging at over 5,000 designated return points across Taiwan, including convenience stores and supermarkets. The returned packages are then collected, professionally cleaned, and sanitized in collaboration with social welfare organizations before being redistributed to partner businesses. The company has also collaborated with the Taiwanese government to help shape sustainable packaging regulations.
