Oxford Path is a comprehensive, home-based English learning system developed by Oxford University Press for children in China aged 0 to 6. The program is structured to address the learning needs of children at various developmental stages within the critical period for language acquisition. Its methodology is reading-based, utilizing interesting stories to cultivate a passion for reading and develop eight generic skills.
The curriculum is divided into packages such as the 'Baby', 'Core', 'Foundation', and 'Maths Adventure' packs. These packages incorporate content related to real-life situations, multi-sensory toys, and a spiral learning approach with over 2,000 high-frequency English words. The system is designed to enhance listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in both English and Chinese. An interactive Smart Pen is included to provide explanations and encourage self-directed learning. Beyond language, the program also offers materials for early mathematics, cognitive development, and preparation for primary school admission interviews.
Oxford Path also extends to physical playgroups taught by experienced tutors in authorized learning centers. These playgroups use a storytelling approach combined with interactive games, sing-alongs, and multi-sensory activities to improve language, social, and motor skills in a native English-speaking environment.
