Ovass

Ovass, a Perth-based software company, was established in 2014 by Dave Newman and Ravi Nichani after they identified a gap in the geospatial intelligence market. The founders participated in the 2017 Plus Eight Accelerator Program, which helped expedite the company's growth and ability to serve a global customer base. Early on, Ovass secured $40K in seed funding from muru-D in April 2017.

The Ovass group serves as the parent entity for Maptaskr Australia. Maptaskr is a geo-productivity analytics solution designed to bridge the gap between geospatial intelligence and a client's own customer, operational, and field data. The platform primarily targets industries such as government, telecommunications, and utilities, with clients including Melbourne Airport, Brisbane City Council, and Singapore Land Authority. Revenue is generated through licensing of its software, which is offered with a free 14-day trial.

The core product, Maptaskr, integrates with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Apps, allowing businesses to visualize their CRM and operational data on interactive maps. Its features facilitate route optimization, territory management, and the creation of geofences. The system supports various technical standards, including ESRI ArcGIS layers, and allows for the integration of multiple data formats like KML and GeoJSON. A key capability is enabling users to geocode data, converting physical addresses into map coordinates to reveal spatial patterns and insights. Maptaskr also provides solutions for field services, allowing workers to create and manage work orders with precise location tagging, even in areas without formal addresses, and can function offline by using simplified vector maps.
