In 2008, co-founders Ron Galbraith and Steven Mason, Jr. identified a critical gap in the healthcare industry. Hospitals and healthcare systems were becoming 'data-rich' from various software systems but lacked the tools to translate that data into concrete action and trackable results. To solve this, they launched onFocus Healthcare, Inc., creating a web-based enterprise performance management (EPM) platform specifically for the healthcare sector. The company's software allowed healthcare leaders to connect their business intelligence with strategic goals and, crucially, to create and monitor action plans to drive performance improvements. This created a 'closed-loop' system where data didn't just inform, it led to accountability and execution. This focus on turning analytics into action resonated in the market. By 2014, over 300 healthcare organizations were using their platform. The Tennessee-based company successfully raised capital to fuel its growth, including a significant $3 million Series B funding round in 2010. The pivotal moment in the company's journey came in November 2014, when it was acquired by MedeAnalytics, a major player in healthcare analytics. The acquisition was a strategic move to combine MedeAnalytics' powerful data insights with onFocus Healthcare's strength in execution and performance management, creating a comprehensive solution for healthcare providers.
