Atvos is a major Brazilian bioenergy company focused on the production of ethanol, VHP (Very High Polarization) sugar, and clean electricity from sugarcane biomass. Founded in 2007 as ETH Bioenergia, a part of the Odebrecht group (now Novonor), the company has undergone significant transformation. It became Odebrecht Agroindustrial in 2013 and was later rebranded to Atvos in 2017. After a period of judicial recovery that began in 2019, the company was acquired by the Mubadala Capital fund from the United Arab Emirates in 2023, marking a new phase of expansion.

The company's business model is centered on the circular economy, utilizing sugarcane as its primary raw material. It produces and sells anhydrous and hydrous ethanol, VHP sugar for domestic and international markets, and cogenerates electricity by burning sugarcane bagasse. This renewable energy powers its own operations, with the surplus sold to the national grid. Atvos serves a variety of clients in the energy and food sectors and is a key player in Brazil's Renovabio program as one of the country's main issuers of Decarbonization Credits (CBIOs). The company is expanding its portfolio to include biomethane from sugarcane waste, corn ethanol, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Operating nine agro-industrial units across the Brazilian states of São Paulo, Goiás, Mato Grosso, and Mato Grosso do Sul, Atvos has a significant production capacity. It can produce nearly 3 billion liters of ethanol, 650,000 metric tons of VHP sugar, and cogenerate approximately 3,900 GWh of electricity. The company is also recognized for its commitment to sustainability, holding an International Renewable Energy Certificate (I-REC). With over 9,000 employees, Atvos plays a vital role in the socioeconomic development of the communities where it operates through its social responsibility programs.
