More about OCCAM's Technologies
Edit

Occam’s Technologies is a Canadian climate tech company pioneering modular carbon capture systems designed specifically for internal combustion engines (ICEs). While traditional solutions focus on large-scale industrial emitters, Occam’s addresses a major gap—decentralized, off-grid sources like oilfields, mining operations, rail, and remote generators that contribute over 1.5 gigatons of CO₂ emissions annually.

Its flagship system, DOCC (Direct Oxyfire Carbon Capture), is a bolt-on retrofit technology capable of capturing over 90% of CO₂ emissions from diesel and natural gas engines. The system integrates oxyfuel combustion, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), and cryogenic CO₂ liquefaction to produce pipeline-ready liquid carbon dioxide while also generating freshwater and reducing nitrogen oxide emissions.

With strong applicability in off-grid and hard-to-electrify sectors, DOCC offers a scalable, field-deployable solution that converts emissions into economic assets. Backed by funding from Natural Resources Canada and academic support from the University of Windsor, Occam’s is preparing for its first 10-ton/day pilot plant and is actively seeking new partners for pilot and FEED studies.

By bringing carbon capture to where it’s never been feasible before, Occam’s Technologies is turning overlooked emissions into opportunity—bridging today’s infrastructure with tomorrow’s net-zero goals.
