Nvite operated as a community-focused event management and registration platform, founded in 2013 by a team that included Martin Ringlein, Evan Dudla, Michael Dick, Alex Giron, and Brandon Vaughan. The company was established in Washington, D.C., and was born from CEO Martin Ringlein's desire to create his own product after years in a design agency setting and a fellowship with the Obama administration. This followed the successful sale of his previous company, nclud, to Twitter, an experience shared with co-founder Alex Girón.

The firm provided a platform for event organizers to create highly customizable, branded event pages, ticketing, and guest management systems. Nvite's core offering centered on enhancing the attendee experience and providing visual consistency for brands throughout their online event presence. It featured tools for branded registration pages, centralized event hubs, and social functionalities to boost engagement before, during, and after an event. The business model was structured to be accessible, offering free services for ticketless events and charging a 2% fee on the ticket price for paid events.

In August 2014, Nvite secured $1 million in a seed funding round from investors including the Center for Innovative Technology, NextGen Venture Partners, and Middle Bridge Partners. The platform gained traction, serving clients such as Stella & Dot, EdTechTeam, and José Andrés' ThinkFoodGroup. On March 31, 2017, the event technology giant Eventbrite acquired Nvite for an undisclosed amount. Following the acquisition, all of Nvite's employees transitioned to Eventbrite's San Francisco headquarters to integrate their design and technology expertise.
