NRG2fly is a Dutch company established in 2022 to develop the charging infrastructure required for the electrification of aviation. The firm was founded by Maarten Steinbuch, Jurjen de Jong, and Jeroen Kroonen, who leveraged their collective experience in electric vehicles and charging networks to address the aviation sector. Steinbuch is a professor at Eindhoven University of Technology, while de Jong and Kroonen have backgrounds in sustainable mobility and green technology ventures.

The company's core business is to build and operate a network of charging stations for electric aircraft at European airports. It provides consultancy and implementation services to airports, helping them transition into energy hubs capable of supporting electric flight. For instance, the company signed a five-year agreement with Den Helder Airport to direct its entire sustainability transformation. Clients include airports such as Teuge, Lelystad, and Den Helder, as well as aircraft developers like Elysian Aircraft and various government bodies.

NRG2fly offers interoperable charging solutions designed to serve not only electric aircraft but also ground service equipment, creating a unified system for all electric assets at an airport. A key part of its strategy is the establishment of a common charging standard, like the Combined Charging System (CSS) used in the automotive industry, to ensure compatibility across different aircraft and locations. The company has developed mobile chargers that can be brought directly to an aircraft, functioning as portable batteries and eliminating the need for planes to taxi to a fixed station. In July 2025, NRG2fly secured an undisclosed amount of funding from a group of angel investors and the regional development company Horizon Flevoland to accelerate its growth and expand its network into Germany. The company is an active participant in industry initiatives, including the European Commission's Alliance for Zero Emission Aviation and co-founded the Electric Aircraft working group within the Open Charge Alliance.
