Established in 2003 by engineers Bruno Weinreich, Philippe Duchein, and Nigel Wakeford, NomoTech originated in Normandy, France, with a mission to address the digital divide in rural areas. The company initially focused on providing high-speed internet to regions with limited or no ADSL coverage by developing and deploying its proprietary WifiMax technology, which utilizes radio waves for connectivity. This approach offered a more cost-effective infrastructure solution for local authorities compared to laying fiber optic or ADSL lines.
NomoTech operates as a provider of wireless broadband access, Wi-Fi hotspot equipment, and comprehensive telecom services. Its clientele includes telecom operators, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and business customers ranging from VSEs and SMEs to large public accounts and local authorities. The company's business model has evolved from being primarily a radio infrastructure operator to a full-service B2B telecom provider. This transformation was significantly accelerated by a series of strategic acquisitions, including Kertel, Voxity, and Full Connect. Revenue is generated through the sale of equipment and subscription-based services, including a triple-play offering of internet, telephone, and TV through its subsidiary, Ozone.
The company's service portfolio is extensive, encompassing the design and operation of professional radio networks, fixed internet access, private 5G networks, wireless connectivity, unified communications, cybersecurity, and cloud hosting. A key milestone was the 2023 merger with Voip Telecom, after which the combined entity rebranded as Stelogy. This strategic move created one of the top 10 B2B telecom operators in France, with a combined workforce of over 500 employees and revenues exceeding €110 million. The merger expanded the group's geographical reach across France and combined NomoTech's direct sales model with Voip Telecom's indirect channel of nearly 400 resellers, allowing for a segmented approach to serving clients of different sizes.
