No Isolation was founded in 2015 by Karen Dolva, Marius Aabel, and Matias Doyle in Oslo, Norway. The company was born out of a desire to tackle the issue of loneliness and social isolation through innovative technology solutions.
Their first product, AV1, is a telepresence robot designed to help children and young adults with long-term illnesses stay connected with their school and friends. This robot acts as the eyes and ears of the child in the classroom, allowing them to participate in real-time despite being physically absent. AV1 was a breakthrough in educational technology, providing a lifeline for children who would otherwise be isolated from their peers.
Building on the success of AV1, No Isolation launched KOMP, a communication device aimed at bridging the digital gap for the elderly. KOMP is a one-button computer that allows family members to share photos, messages, and make video calls with their older relatives who may not be tech-savvy. This product further cemented No Isolation's mission to reduce loneliness across different age groups.
No Isolation has not only gained recognition for its impactful products but has also attracted significant investment to fuel its growth. The company has raised several funding rounds, enabling it to expand its reach and continue developing solutions that address social isolation.
Through its journey, No Isolation has remained committed to its core mission: using technology to bring people together and combat loneliness. The company's innovative approach and dedication to social impact have made it a leader in the field of assistive technology.
