Nispera AG, founded in 2015 by Marco Piersanti and headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, operates as a specialized provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions for the renewable energy sector. The company's business model is centered on offering a subscription-based, cloud-native platform that utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning to manage and optimize renewable energy assets. This platform serves a diverse client base that includes energy traders, large asset managers, grid operators, and financial institutions.

The core of Nispera's offering is an Asset Performance Management (APM) platform designed to be hardware-agnostic, allowing it to integrate with wind, solar, hydro, and energy storage assets from any original equipment manufacturer. This system collects and analyzes vast amounts of data—a single wind turbine can generate 30,000 data points per minute—to provide real-time monitoring, identify performance bottlenecks, and forecast energy production. Key features include a predictive maintenance application that uses AI to anticipate component failures, an operations and maintenance app, and a portfolio management tool. A notable component is a PV Digital Twin which employs geographically accurate maps to compare actual energy production against AI-modeled potential, pinpointing exact locations of underperformance. These tools help clients increase asset uptime, enhance revenue, and improve the management of their operations and maintenance service providers.

In April 2022, Nispera was acquired by Fluence, a global provider of energy storage products and digital applications, in an all-cash transaction of approximately $30 million. This strategic acquisition was intended to accelerate the development of Fluence's IQ Digital Platform, integrating Nispera's suite of five applications to create a comprehensive 'manage app' for customers. Following the acquisition, Nispera's leadership team remained, operating under the Fluence brand while continuing to serve its global customer base across more than 25 countries. At the time of the acquisition, Nispera had 8 GW of assets under management across 450 wind and solar projects. The integration has since expanded Nispera's capabilities, particularly in the energy storage sector.
