New Signature

New Signature was a cloud-first, full-service Microsoft partner that provided managed services and professional services for cloud solutions. The company was founded in 2003 by Christopher Hertz and Jeff Dunmall. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the firm also had operations in the United Kingdom, Canada, and South Africa.

The company specialized exclusively in Microsoft technologies, offering integrated services across Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365. Its business model focused on assisting clients with their digital transformation by adopting Microsoft's cloud technologies. New Signature provided a full lifecycle of services, from initial planning, design, and deployment to ongoing management and support. The firm served a global portfolio of clients across various industries, including government, retail, media, healthcare, finance, and manufacturing. High-profile projects included a cloud migration for Virgin Atlantic Airways and an IoT solution for The Hershey Company.

On July 28, 2020, Cognizant announced it had entered into an agreement to acquire New Signature, with the deal closing on August 18, 2020. The acquisition was part of Cognizant's strategy to expand its hyperscale cloud advisory services. Upon acquisition, New Signature's team of over 500 cloud experts became the foundation of a new, dedicated Microsoft Business Group (MBG) within Cognizant. This new group continues to deliver enterprise solutions powered by Microsoft's platforms. Prior to its acquisition, New Signature had raised $35 million in a Series B funding round in 2015 and an additional $15 million in a debt round in 2018.
