NBS4MOV (Nature-Based Solutions for Mountain Villages) is a research initiative focused on sustainable redevelopment of mountain villages through nature-based solutions (NBS). The project emphasizes the use of vegetated systems, such as green walls, to treat and reuse greywater, aiming to enhance water resource management in alpine communities. These systems are designed to operate in cold climates and are constructed using recyclable materials, aligning with circular economy principles.
By integrating ecological design with digital technologies, NBS4MOV seeks to address challenges such as depopulation, water scarcity, and environmental degradation in mountainous regions.
NBS4MOV is part of the NODES (Nord Ovest Digitale E Sostenibile) innovation ecosystem, funded by Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The project is coordinated by the University of Valle d'Aosta and involves collaboration among engineers, architects, and environmental scientists.
