Established in 2015, Nara Space Technology is a South Korean aerospace company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and operation of small satellites, known as CubeSats. The company was started by founders from three different universities who met at a space science conference in 2014. This 16U CubeSat provides multispectral imagery with a native resolution of 1.5 meters, which can be enhanced to 0.5 meters using the company's proprietary super-resolution algorithm. The data collected by the Observer satellites feeds into 'EarthPaper,' a proprietary data analytics platform. This platform uses artificial intelligence to analyze satellite imagery, providing clients with actionable insights through a dashboard. Nara Space is also developing the 'NarSha' constellation, which will focus specifically on monitoring methane gas emissions. Furthermore, the company contributes to various other space missions, including developing rocket avionics and participating in lunar exploration projects.

Financially, Nara Space has demonstrated consistent growth, securing multiple funding rounds. The company has raised a total of $24.3 million, culminating in a Series B round in May 2024 that brought in $14.5 million. This capital is being used to expand the Observer constellation and accelerate the development of the NarSha methane-monitoring satellite. With plans for a potential IPO, Nara Space aims to operate a constellation of over 100 satellites, providing near real-time monitoring services for major cities worldwide.
