myElefant, founded in Paris in 2010 by Cyril Puget and Jean Philippe Gallet, developed a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform focused on mobile customer engagement. The company operates in the Communications Platform as-a-Service (CPaaS) market, providing tools for businesses to create, manage, and optimize mobile marketing campaigns.
The firm's core offering was a platform that enabled enterprises to transition from standard SMS to rich, interactive, and conversational messaging across channels like SMS, RCS, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger. Key features included a low-code design tool for creating immersive media experiences and personalized mobile landing pages unique to each recipient. This approach allowed businesses to combine the broad reach of SMS with the rich media capabilities and analytics of a webpage, significantly increasing customer engagement times. The business model was subscription-based (SaaS), serving over 160 enterprise clients, including major brands like Nespresso, Orange, and Nissan.
In September 2019, the Swedish cloud communications leader Sinch announced its acquisition of myElefant for an upfront cash consideration of €18.5 million, with a potential additional earnout. At the time of the acquisition, myElefant had 41 employees in Paris and Bordeaux and had generated revenues of €10.5 million in 2018. The acquisition was part of Sinch's strategy to bolster its SaaS offerings, integrating myElefant's platform to provide a more sophisticated, analytics-driven solution for its global customer base. Following the acquisition, completed in October 2019, myElefant's technology was absorbed into Sinch's Customer Communications Cloud.
