Mundi is a financial technology company based in Istanbul, Turkey, that provides an investment platform making capital market products accessible to Turkish SMEs. The company, officially MUDI FINANSAL TEKNOLOJI HIZMETLERI ANONIM SIRKETI, was co-founded by Göksenin Akdeniz, who also serves as the CEO.
The platform allows companies to invest their Turkish Lira (TL) and US Dollar (USD) savings into various capital market instruments. Mundi partners with licensed brokerage firms, such as Ünlü Menkul Değerler A.Ş., where user investment accounts are opened and held in compliance with the regulations of Turkey's Capital Markets Board (SPK). This structure enables businesses to manage their funds through overnight accounts, repos, and mutual funds, which are typically more accessible to large corporations. By pooling the funds of its users, Mundi can negotiate advantageous, high-return rates from over 10 banks daily, offering these opportunities to all its clients regardless of their balance size.
The business model is transparent, charging a commission on the returns generated through its brokerage partner. The annual commission rate is 1.50% for TL savings and 0.75% for USD savings. The app is available for Turkish citizens over 18, Blue Card holders, and Turkish citizens with multiple nationalities residing in Turkey. For 2025, balances up to 1,645,665 TL are secured by the Investor Compensation Center.
In February 2025, Mundi announced it had secured $2.5 million in a seed funding round led by Speedinvest and DeBa Ventures. The company plans to use this capital to introduce new investment products and expand its regional presence. As part of its growth strategy, Mundi has also applied to the Capital Markets Board of Türkiye for a portfolio management license.
