In 1983, a family-owned home repair business was founded in Spain, laying the groundwork for what would become Multiasistencia. The company's core business was managing and repairing home and business insurance claims. Instead of a traditional cash settlement, Multiasistencia built a network of independent repair professionals to fix the damage directly, operating as a white-label service for major insurance companies. The business model proved effective, and the company began a significant international expansion. It exported its operating model, which became a case study at prominent business schools, to countries including France, Portugal, Italy, and Brazil. This growth was driven by a focus on technology and process optimization, developing a fully digital platform to manage claims efficiently. A pivotal moment in the company's journey occurred in 2018 when Allianz Partners, a subsidiary of the global insurance giant Allianz, acquired 100% of Multiasistencia from the private equity firm Portobello Capital and minority shareholders. The deal, valued at around €300 million, was a strategic move for Allianz to strengthen its position in the home and assistance markets. Despite the acquisition, Multiasistencia was to continue operating with its own brand and business model to maintain neutrality in its service offerings.
