Mowbly

Mowbly, founded as CloudPact Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in 2011 by Vignesh Swaminathan and Sathish Kumar Thangaraj, established itself as a business process mobility platform. The company specialized in providing a comprehensive cross-platform mobile solution that enabled enterprises to connect their mobile workforce with enterprise system task flows.

The core of Mowbly's offering was a low-code, agile platform with a mobile-first approach, allowing for the rapid development and deployment of web and mobile applications without requiring specialized skills. Key features included offline data support, enterprise connectivity, task flow capabilities, and out-of-the-box device integration, all delivered through a cloud-based model. This addressed the business need for real-time data access and increased worker productivity by allowing users to define, manage, and automate complex processes that could integrate with third-party systems.

In March 2018, Mowbly was acquired by ASG Technologies, a provider of enterprise solutions for information access and management. The acquisition was aimed at extending ASG's enterprise information management offerings with Business Process Management (BPM) capabilities. For ASG, Mowbly's platform provided the ability to offer workflow services, such as document review and approval, and to build applications that leverage ASG's existing product suites. Vignesh Swaminathan, Mowbly's CEO at the time of the acquisition, noted that the platform was developed with the principle of enabling the core business process, a vision shared by ASG. Following the acquisition, Swaminathan founded PilotApps.ai.
