Moved Network is developing a Layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum, designed to enhance the development and deployment of decentralized applications (dApps). The platform integrates the Move Virtual Machine (MoveVM) with the Optimism OP Stack, creating a high-throughput environment for developers. This combination allows for parallel transaction processing and aims to provide a more secure framework for smart contracts by leveraging Move's resource-oriented programming, which helps prevent common vulnerabilities.
The network functions as an optimistic rollup, processing transactions off-chain to increase speed and reduce costs while inheriting the security of the Ethereum mainnet. It is designed to be fully compatible with Ethereum's infrastructure, enabling developers to use familiar tools and access the network's liquidity and user base. The platform supports both Move-based and EVM-compatible smart contracts, facilitating interoperability and migration for developers from either ecosystem.
The project was co-founded by Rushi Manche and Cooper Scanlon. Their goal is to address security issues and high costs prevalent in the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector while providing a scalable and developer-friendly environment. By combining the security features of the Move language with Ethereum's extensive network effects, Moved Network aims to accelerate the adoption of dApps.
