MOSH is an Australian digital healthcare platform focused on men's wellness, founded in 2017 by best friends David Narunsky and Gabe Baker. The idea originated from Baker's personal negative experience seeking treatment for hair loss, which was expensive and inconvenient. He and Narunsky, his flatmate at the time, conceived of an online model to deliver these services discreetly and more affordably by cutting out real estate costs. Narunsky's background includes turnaround consulting at KordaMentha and work in private equity covering the cosmetic and healthcare sectors, while Baker has experience as a consultant at McKinsey & Company and as an M&A lawyer.
The company operates as an end-to-end digital health clinic, providing men with consultations, personalized treatment plans, and delivery of prescription and non-prescription products. The platform addresses a range of sensitive health concerns including hair loss, sexual health, skincare, mental health, and weight loss. MOSH's business model is primarily subscription-based, offering all-inclusive treatment plans that cover medical consultations, pharmaceuticals, and delivery, though one-off orders are also available. The process begins with an online questionnaire about the user's health and medical history, which is assessed by Australian-registered doctors and nurse practitioners. If a prescription is deemed appropriate, a telehealth consultation follows via call, video, or text. The prescribed medications are then delivered discreetly to the customer's door.
The startup has successfully attracted significant investment, including from Tinder co-founders Sean Rad and Justin Mateen, who also serve as advisors. MOSH has conducted multiple funding rounds, including a Seed round in August 2019, and a Series A round in January 2022, raising a total of $31.1 million. The company has shown substantial growth, reporting over 50,000 customers and a valuation of $90 million. To further its reach, MOSH has a brother brand, Moshy, which focuses on weight loss and prescription skincare for women.
