Mondeox S.p.A. is an Italian contract manufacturer specializing in the development and production of high-performance footwear. Founded in 1993 by Maurizio and Lorenzo Florian, along with Maria Antonia Florian, the company began by manufacturing trekking footwear, snowboard boots, and après-ski boots in Altivole, Italy. The second generation, Manuel Florian, later joined the family business. Over the years, Mondeox has expanded significantly, establishing its headquarters in Asolo in 1999, within the Montebelluna sport footwear district, and opening production facilities in Romania (2001) and Ukraine (2007, 2019). In 2023, on its 30th anniversary, the company received a major investment from Eulero Capital to support its international growth plans.
The company's business model is centered on private label manufacturing for prominent outdoor brands, offering a comprehensive service from design and project development to the final product. Mondeox produces a wide range of footwear for various markets, including outdoor, hunting, military, tactical, and safety sectors. Clients include well-known brands such as Garmont, Tecnica, Diadora, and Aigle. Production is exclusively carried out in its own European facilities, which span approximately 25,000 square meters and employ around 850 people, with a capacity of about 900,000 pairs of shoes annually. The company leverages advanced technologies like GORE-TEX and OrthoLite to ensure high-quality, durable, and comfortable products.
Significant milestones in Mondeox's history include becoming a joint-stock company (S.p.A.) in 2006, obtaining the GORE-TEX® license in 2013, and rebranding with "The Shoe Factory" payoff in 2014 to declare its mission of becoming Europe's top outdoor footwear manufacturer. In 2022, the company produced over 1.5 million pairs of shoes and generated revenues exceeding €50 million.
