Founded in 2012 by Ronny Elkayam, Boaz Adato, and Eilon Tirosh, Moment.me was conceived to address the fragmented nature of digital content at events. The company developed a service that automatically aggregated photos, videos, and tweets from various social networks like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter into a cohesive, shared album for a specific event. This allowed participants and organizers to view a comprehensive, real-time narrative of an event from multiple perspectives. The founding team brought a blend of serial entrepreneurship and deep technical expertise to the venture; Ronny Elkayam, who served as CEO, and Boaz Adato both had prior experience as co-founders at eXaudios, while Eilon Tirosh was an active angel investor and serial entrepreneur.

The core of the platform was its proprietary smart-matching technology, named HintMachine, which processed and clustered vast amounts of out-of-context digital assets into these shared event albums, referred to as "moments". At its peak, the algorithm handled over 50 million media items daily. The service was accessible via a web platform and mobile apps for iOS and Android, and it also offered an embeddable widget used by major media outlets like Fox News and MSNBC for social coverage of significant events. While initially focused on individual users creating and contributing to moments, the company later targeted small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and event organizers. A partnership with website builder Wix.com in October 2014 enabled Wix users to integrate Moment.me's event solution directly into their websites, providing a tool for marketing and customer engagement.

In April 2015, following this successful partnership, Wix.com acquired Moment.me for an estimated $10 million. The acquisition was a strategic move for Wix to incorporate social and mobile marketing tools into its platform. Following the acquisition, the standalone Moment.me service was discontinued, and its technology was integrated into Wix's offerings. Ronny Elkayam transitioned to a senior role at Wix, eventually becoming SVP of Mobile & Strategic Products, overseeing areas like Wix Photography and the Wix App Market.
