Kasta.ua, a prominent player in Ukraine's e-commerce sector, was established in 2010 by co-founders Andriy Logvin and Oleh Skrypnychenko. Andriy Logvin, who serves as the company's CEO, has a background in law and business administration, having studied at institutions including Kyiv-Mohyla Business School and Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Prior to Kasta, he was the general director of CDMA Ukraine.

The company began its journey as modnaKasta, an online shopping club operating on a "flash sales" model, which features frequent, short-term discounts. This model, initially for members only, proved successful, leading to a 12-fold growth in 2012 with a turnover of approximately $23 million. A key milestone was receiving an $11 million investment from the Allegro Group (part of Naspers) for a controlling stake, although this partnership ended prematurely, leading to Logvin becoming the sole owner after repaying the debt. In 2018, the company rebranded from modnaKasta to Kasta and shifted its business model from flash sales to a comprehensive marketplace. This transformation involved opening the platform to third-party sellers, which now account for the majority of sales.

Kasta operates as a multi-category marketplace, offering a wide array of goods including clothing, footwear, accessories, electronics, and home essentials. Its revenue is primarily generated through commissions on sales made by its partners, which range from 3% to 20% depending on the product category. The company serves a broad consumer market across Ukraine, providing a platform for over 5,000 merchants to sell their products. A key service is its subscription program, Kasta Black, which offers members benefits like free delivery. To manage logistics, the company developed its own network of pick-up points called KastaPost. In early 2025, the investment group DCH, owned by Oleksandr Yaroslavskyi, acquired a stake in the company, aiming to support its scaling and innovation efforts while Andriy Logvin remains at the helm.
