Operating under the commercial name Merci Julie, Senioralis SAS is a social and solidarity economy enterprise (ESUS) focused on enabling seniors and individuals with disabilities to live at home safely and comfortably. The company was co-founded in 2016 by Mickaël Briquet, an occupational therapist with over two decades of experience in geriatrics. The venture originated from the collaboration between two entities, Médialis and Substantiel, both with extensive experience in serving the senior community.
Merci Julie provides a comprehensive suite of services centered around occupational therapy to support home life for the elderly and disabled. This includes in-home diagnostics by occupational therapists to assess autonomy and identify necessary home modifications, followed by personalized support plans. The company also offers "tele-ergotherapy," a pioneering remote consultation service in France, to reach a wider audience, including those in remote areas. Another key service is the "Ergothèque," where individuals can test technical aids. The business model operates on both B2C and B2B2C channels, providing services directly to individuals and through partnerships with social workers, insurers, and healthcare professionals. Their offering extends to project management assistance for home adaptation work, training for professional caregivers, and strategic consulting for organizations in the senior care sector.
In April 2024, the company secured €2.3 million in funding from investors including BNP Paribas and Banque des Territoires to accelerate its national deployment. By that time, Merci Julie had already assisted 20,000 beneficiaries, supported 5,000 caregivers, and installed 35,000 technical aids.
